Isaac Woods, most known as Ike Woods, and affectionately called MOJO IKE! The third child of seven sons, a native Floridian, born in Miami to a Pentecostal minister – Willie Woods and his wife, Emma Woods. He began his musical journey at the tender age of six. His first guitar teacher was his father. As he honed his craft, he quickly became recognized as a child prodigy and excelled as a musician during his school years.

At the age of seventeen, Ike auditioned for Jazz greats Nat Adderly and Curtis Fuller at a high school music workshop. They immediately offered this exciting and accomplished young guitarist the opportunity to travel to New York and play with them professionally. Ike, however, chose to remain in Florida to finish his education, marry and pursue his career. 

In the early part of his music career, he performed professionally with Florida bands led by Leon Dixon, Dick Knight, Richard Strahan, Forest (Tex) Beverly, Joey Gilmore, Joe Orr, Betty Wright, and Jimmy BoHorne. He became a highly sought after studio musician due to his versatility and high skill level. 

Mojo Ike is no stranger to the studio! His accolades in the studio include sessions (playing his guitar) for producers like Barry Smith, Lou Pace, Rick Fince, Harry Casey, Desmond Child, and Scott Storch. He’s also done theater work for M Ensemble Theater Company on their production of Blues Man. 

His love for the guitar and artistry transcends musical genres. Mojo Ike has performed in Jazz arenas, including the Milton Mustafa Jazz Orchestra for the Black Film Association. He has also worked with such talents as Alice Day, Juanita Dixon, Jessie Jones, Joe Donato, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and many others.

Presently, he is performing around the world. His live shows are dynamic whether he is playing alone or with a ten-piece band featuring his wife, Val Woods. He has several albums available where digital music can be purchased.
